Problem: The location for ArcMap's buffer or geoprocessing output changes to the route's temp directory

The Buffer and Geoprocessing wizards resulting output file changes from the last saved location to the route's temp directory (C:\Temp).

ArcMap defaults to the temp folder of the route directory when data cannot be saved to the previously navigated location, as it is in the case of a geocoding service.

Solution or Workaround

Click the Browse button on the Save Data dialog box and navigate to the folder where you want to save the data.
