Error: Unable to Send Request to Server. Make sure your local drive is shared.
Running a tool when setting up a geoprocessing server sometimes returns:
Unable to Send Request to Server. Make Sure Your Local Drive is Shared
The appropriate drive or folder has not been shared.
Solution or Workaround
- Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the drive where the data is located.
- Right-click the drive or folder and select Sharing
- Select Shared As and specify a name.
When sharing a drive such as C, make sure to give it a new share name. ArcToolBox does not function correctly when the default C$ is chosen for the Drive name. Create a new share name by clicking on 'New Share' and specifying a name.
