Error: Error in Image Source [filename].sid

Error Message

This error occurs when adding a MrSid image as an image theme to a view:

Where is [filename].sid.

After dismissing that message, another is returned:

Error in image source [filename].sid. Unable to make theme.

Cause

The TEMP environment variable is set to a folder which is not 8.3 compliant. For example, 'TEMP = c:\documents and settings\users\local settings\temp' will evoke the problem.

Solution or Workaround

Change the TEMP environment variable to an 8.3 compliant directory. For example, c:\temp. See: How To: Edit an environment variable
