ODBC dbase driver field not found

Error Message

When making an ODBC connection using Database Access, with either a where clause or a join clause, ArcView returns this:

ODBC dbase driver field not found

Cause

This error is usually associated with bad, corrupt, or miss-matched database index files. Although Arcview does not read the index files created by a database, they still cause a conflict in the ArcView ODBC Connection.

Solution or Workaround

Warning:
Some database programs require these indexes in order to work. Some will build upon start up of the database while others will produce an error. Don't make many changes without discussing it with your database administrator.
