Error: Cannot successfully map soname 'libclntsh.so.1.0' under any of the filenames
When starting the ArcSDE server for the first time, you may receive the following error message:
rld: Fatal Error: Cannot successfully map soname 'libclntsh.so.1.0' under any of the filenames /current library path/...
Could not start ArcSDE -- Check network, $SDEHOME disk, DBMS settings and dbinit.sde.
This error is caused by the lack of certain Oracle Client library files needed by the version of ArcSDE that runs on IRIX. These library files are available as part of the Oracle N32 Toolkit.
Solution or Workaround
- Install the Oracle N32 Toolkit.
- Create a new environment variable called LD_LIBRARYN32_PATH and set it to the path containing the library files from the tool kit, e.g. /oracle/toolkit/sgi_n32_oracle_client_toolkit/lib32.
