Select null values from a geodatabase feature class

Summary

The Select By Attributes function provides the ability to select the desired feature based on a value from the attribute table, including a feature with a null value.

Procedure

The following steps describe how to select a feature containing null values:

  1. Click Select By Attributes from the Selection menu, or click the Select By Attributes icon The icon of the Select By Attribute function on the attribute table.

  1. Select the desired field to be identified by double-clicking the field name in the Select by Attributes window.
  2. Click the operator Is and Null to complete the selection query. The final query is as follows:
<Field_Name> IS NULL

  1. Click Verify > Apply.
