Select null values from a geodatabase feature class

Summary

The Select By Attributes function provides the ability to select the desired feature based on a value from the attribute table, including a feature with a null value.

Procedure

The following steps describe how to select a feature containing null values:

1. Click Select By Attributes from the Selection menu, or click the Select By Attributes icon on the attribute table.

2. Select the desired field to be identified by double-clicking the field name in the Select by Attributes window.
3. Click the operator Is and Null to complete the selection query. The final query is as follows:

<Field_Name> IS NULL

4. Click Verify > Apply.
