Summary
The ESRI License Manager requires TCP/IP installation. Cases in which the computer is not on a network and does not have a network card, configure the TCP/IP to use the Microsoft Loopback Adaptor.
Procedure
- Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Hardware. Click Next to continue.
- Select Add/Troubleshoot a Device. Click Next to continue.
- Select Add a New Device. Click Next to continue.
- Select No when prompted to select the hardware. Click Next to continue.
- Select Network Adaptors. Click Next to continue.
- Select Microsoft under Manufacturers. Select Microsoft Loopback Adaptor under Network Adaptor. Click Next to continue.
- Click Next to install new software for hardware. Click Finish.
- Click Start > Control Panel. Double-click Network and Dial-Up Connections.
- Right-click Local Area Connection 2. Click Properties.
- Select TCP/IP. Click Properties.
- Configure the static IP address by first selecting Use the Following IP Address. Configure the IP address and subnet mask. If you do not know what to specify try the following settings:
IP adress: 100.100.100.1
subnet mask: 255.0.0.0
Default Gateway: leave blank
- Click OK twice. Click Close.
- Go back to Network and Dial-up Connections. Right-click Local Area Connection. Select Disable.
- To test, open a DOS window and run the ping command to verify IP Address. For example:
