Queries on joined items fail

Description

When using the ArcXML jointables functionality, why does a query on a joined item fail?

Cause

There are several criteria that must be met to query joined tables.

Solution or Workaround

• When joining to a DBF, the name of the DBF must be 10 characters or less.
• When joining to an ArcSDE layer, specify the full field name. The full field name is defined as < owner.table.field >.
