Import71 does not import e00 files completely

Description

Import71 utility fails to import ArcInfo interchange files (*.e00).

Cause

Two possible causes:

1) A compression parameter was used when generating the interchange file. The Import71 utility does not support compressed interchange files.

2) The name of the file or the output data source path is not 8.3 compliant. In other words, the name is longer than eight characters, may have special characters (spaces), and/or the extension does not contain three characters.

Solution or Workaround

• Obtain an uncompressed copy of the e00 file.
• Make sure the file name and the output data source path are 8.3 compliant. Example:
