ORA-12545: func is not used (with sdeversion)

Error Message

When running the SDEVERSION command, this error may appear:

Cause

Some environment variables have not been defined.

Solution or Workaround

1. Set ORACLE_SID to the SID of your Oracle instance.
2. Set ORACLE_HOME to the installation path of your Oracle instance.
3. Set SHLIB_PATH on HP-UX, or LIBPATH on IBM AIX systems, or LD_LIBRARY_PATH on other UNIX systems, to include $ORACLE_HOME/lib and $SDEHOME/lib and the system library directories. For example:
   
   

   setenv SHLIB_PATH $SDEHOME/lib:$AVHOME/lib:/usr/lib:/lib:$ORACLE_HOME/lib
