ARCTIGER created empty TIGER files

Description

What to do when ARCTIGER is creating empty TIGER files.

Cause

The item RT in the .ACODE file does not have a value of 1 or the coverage has not been projected into geographic.

Solution or Workaround

• Ensure the item RT in the cover.ACODE file has a value of 1. This value indicates that all lines should be converted to tiger lines type 1.
• Ensure the coverage has been projected into GEOGRAPHIC coordinate system. This is because TIGER/line files from the Census Bureau have the coordinates stored in geographic.
