This error occurs when clicking a feature to SELECT in ARCEDIT:
NO MATCH FOUND
Sometimes the wrong feature is selected.
The EDITDISTANCE has been inappropriately specified for the particular coverage.
1. If the EDITDISTANCE is too small no feature will be selected and the error will occur., unless you are precisely on top of the desired feature.
2. If the EDITDISTANCE is too large, a feature will be selected but it may not be the one you want. If more than one feature falls within the specified EDITDISTANCE, there is no guarantee which feature will be selected, even if the feature you clicked is the closest to the cross hairs on the screen. If the EDITDISTANCE radius comes in contact with more than one feature, there is no guarantee which one will be selected first.
Increase or decrease the EDITDISTANCE until you are able to select the features you want.
If this doesn't work, it may be due to the units the coverage is in and the ability of PC ARC/INFO to handle only single precision numbers. Because these numbers only have seven decimal places of accuracy, and coverages in Geographic projections only have numbers that are in the hundreds and smaller, this leaves the majority of single precision numbers to the left of the decimal place (112.4356 or 11.23456). The same is true for coverages in digitizer inches (0.123456 or 3.876548). The best way to resolve this is to TRANSFORM and/or PROJECT the coverages into real world coordinates, such as Stateplane or UTM, so the majority of the number place holders are to the right of the decimal place (1234.567 or 56734.23). This way it may be easier to specify an EDITDISTANCE that ARCEDIT can select coverage features with the desired accuracy.
