Open ArcView version 1 (.av) files in ArcView 3.X

Question:

How can I use ArcView version 1 files (.av), such as those found with ArcUSA, in ArcView GIS 3.x?

Answer:

To open ArcView version 1 project files, choose the "import" option under the Project menu, found on the project GUI. Once in the Import dialog, select '1ArcView 1 view (*.av)' from the "List Files of type" drop down list.
