The script 'SDE.ExportTableUpdate' could not be found

Solution or Workaround

Error Message

Opening a project created in ArcView 3.0a in ArcView 3.1 or ArcView 3.2 causes the following errors:

Where is ..esri/av_gis30/arcview/ext/dbthemes.avx? 

Stop. The script 'SDE.ExportTableUpdate' could not be found 


Cause

The DBThemes extension has been replaced by the DBAccess extension. The project still has the DBThemes extension turned on.

Solution

1. Search for user default.apr files.

     a} Select Start>Find>Find Files or Folders.
b) Search all local drives for the file name 'default.apr'

2. Rename all user default projects to default.old.

Warning:
Do not rename or delete the system default project located in the ..\esri\av_gis30\arcview\etc\ directory.

3. If you have access to ArcVIew 3.0a, try the following steps.

     a) Start/Restart ArcView3.0a.  
b) Open the Project that gives the error.
c) Activate the Project Window.
d) Select Extensions from the File menu.
e) Click off the DBThemes extension. Make sure the Sample SDE Editing
Extension is turned off as well if present.
f) Click OK.
g) Select Save Project from the File menu.
h) Open Project in ArcView 3.1 or ArcView 3.2

4. If you do not have access to ArcView 3.0a, visit the web address listed in the Related Information section of this document for an alternative solution.

Note:
If the project is accessing SDE data using the DBThemes extension for accessing data, you will need to remove the data and connection, and readd the data using the Database Access Extension.
