HOW TO

Move a coverage wth annotation to ArcView

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Procedure

I have a coverage with annotation features. I want to move this coverage to ArcView. Should I use ARC ARCSHAPE command?

Answer:

Annotation is an unsupported feature class for shape files. You should use the ARC EXPORT command instead. The following example demonstrates what happens when a coverage named TEST containing only TIC and ANNO.JUNK features is EXPORTed.

Arc: describe test
