Question

Can ArcInfo Workstation draw line symbols with KEYLINE in a straight line as opposed to the N-shaped line drawn by default?

Answer

First, specify KEYBOX 0.5 0 (where 0.5 is how long the line will be when it is drawn and 0 is the height of the box). Then use the NOBOX argument in the KEYLINE command.
Note:
If the NOBOX option is omitted, the box will draw over the legend with a straight line using the current line symbol. The text associated with the key may not be aligned with your line. To resolve this, specify a slight TEXTOFFSET.
