There are no services available

Error Message

In ArcGIS Online, when visiting the Administrator Directory for the layer or feature service, users are unable to access them and an error message is returned, "There are no services available". The hosted feature service are not displayed in the Administrator Directory. Thus, the definition of the services cannot be updated.

Error:
There are no services available

Cause

The error message is returned because the hosted feature service is shared with everyone (public). Users are attempting to access the page from a publicly shared service.

In other instances, this may also happen if users are trying to access the directory without passing a token for admission.

Solution or Workaround

Follow any of the options to access the ArcGIS REST Administrator Directory page successfully:

Option A
  1. Go to a non-publicly shared feature service's Item Details page.
  2. Log in to ArcGIS.com with administrator credentials.
  3. Click My Content, and navigate to the intended feature service count to be expended.
  4. On the item details, click the drop-down arrow next to a layer name and select Service URL. This brings to a new page; the ArcGIS REST Services Directory page.service URL
  5. Modify the URL to the one displayed below, appending admin to the end of the URL and getting rid of the rest of the URL to the service:
    http://services.arcgis.com/xxxx/ArcGIS/admin
  6. Navigate to Services to find the service, and click the service name. The URL becomes like this:
    http://services.arcgis.com/xxxx/ArcGIS/admin/services/servicename.FeatureServer
  7. Press Enter to access the new page. At the page, click Services, and the organization's services can now be seen.
Option B

Append a token to the URL as follows:
http://services.arcgis.com//ArcGIS/admin/services?token=
