Known issue with Trimble Positions Desktop add-in for 10.4.0.1

Description

An error is displayed when attempting to download base station data if the appropriate Visual C++ 2013 x86 runtime DLLs were not installed prior to installing the Trimble Positions Desktop add-in (release version 10.4.0.1.).

Cause

The components for Trimble Positions post-processing use Visual C++ 2013 x86 runtime DLLs, which must be installed to enable proper operation. If experiencing this behavior, verify it in the Control Panel's Programs and Features applet. The Visual C++ 2013 x86 runtime version must be 12.0.21005 or 12.0.30501.

Solution or Workaround

If the runtime is not installed, it can be installed from the Microsoft Download Center. After clicking Download, be sure to select the ‘x86’ version.

Note:
Installing a new version of the Visual C++ 2013 runtime for a specific processor 
architecture uninstalls older versions for both architectures.

Trimble plans to update the Positions Desktop add-in installer to install the Visual C++ 2013 runtime to avoid this problem.
