ArcGIS Business Analyst 8.3c Service Pack 1

This Service Pack contains several maintenance fixes for users and developers using ArcGIS Business Analyst 8.3c.

ESRI® announces ArcGIS Business Analyst 8.3c Service Pack 1. This Service Pack contains several maintenance fixes for users and developers using ArcGIS Business Analyst 8.3c. The fixes deal specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Service Pack.

You can install this Service Pack over the ArcGIS Business Analyst 8.3c installation. You should make certain you have already installed the latest Service Packs for ArcGIS 8.3c prior to installing the Business Analyst 8.3c Service Pack 1.

We recommend that all ArcGIS Business Analyst 8.3c customers download and install this Service Pack, at their earliest convenience, to ensure the highest quality experience when working with ArcGIS Business Analyst 8.3c.

Issues Addressed with this Service Pack

The following issues have been corrected:

• 1. States and counties used to created study areas are out of date. The states file contains a minor shift in the Hawaii coastlines, and the counties have not been updated for the latest Census county boundary changes (the addition of Broomfield, CO and the merging of Clifton Forge, VA into Alleghany, VA).
     
     
  2. Gravity Model works incorrectly with projected source data.
     
     
  3. Spatial Overlay error related to CQ00256618 - problem with TopologicalOperator::Intersect method.
     
     
  4. Errors in ESRI BIS metadata files (.xml) causing incorrect report values.
     
     
  5. Calculation and/or formatting errors exist in several ESRI BIS report files.
     
     
  6. List of characteristics available in AGS custom reports needs to be updated.
     
     

Files Installed in this Service Pack

Installing the Service Pack

Since this Service Pack replaces several Business Analyst and ArcGIS Desktop 8.3 files, Business Analyst 8.3c must be installed before you can install this Service Pack.

1. Make sure you have write access to your Business Analyst and ArcGIS Desktop 8.3 installation folders, and that no one is using Business Analyst or ArcGIS Desktop 8.3.

3. Download BA83c_SP1.zip (3 MB) to a location other than your installation location.
   
   
4. Use WinZip to extract the Business Analyst 8.3c Service Pack 1 setup.exe file from BA83c_SP1.zip.
   
   
5. Double-click the setup.exe file to start the install process.
6. 
   
   
7. When Setup starts, follow the instructions on your screen.

NOTE: If you have installed client setups from a shared Network Administrative ArcGIS Desktop setup, this Service Pack must be applied to all client installations.
