Issues Addressed with this Service Pack

3D Globe Desktop Engine Engine Dev Kit Reader Server Server Java ADF
CQ00237312 - Raster Catalogs in ArcGlobe Application will result in an application crash if there are no renderers are selected (such as color Map, Stretched or RGB) in the symbology tab of the catalog layer. n/a n/a
CQ00238726 - A seam will appear between borders of adjacent datasets or image mosaics. This seam is not part of the data is an artifact introduced by the application. It can become apparent with high resolution imagery or when zoomed close to the datasets' borders. n/a n/a
CQ00243045 - When displaying feature datasets in ArcGlobe, they may appear to hang the application, as unnecessarily levels of detail will be generated by the application even when not required. A typical case is when the view is zoomed close to an area of interest of a feature layer, the application will attempt to generate lower - coarser levels of detail. This greatly affected the application performance and/or responsiveness. n/a n/a
ArcCatalog
CQ00238441 - ArcCatalog crashes when you create a new advanced text style for an existing populated dimension feature class. n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a
CQ00241441 - VB6 modeless dialogs fail to display in ArcCatalog since VBA is not loaded on startup with PreloadVBA registry setting. n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a
ArcMap
CQ00239678 - Some PDF documents are not able to be inserted in other PDF applications. In other cases, the insertion may appear successful, but sections of the merged PDF may disappear and the PDF viewer table of contents may appear corrupted. This is due to the pdf stream length being calculated incorrectly when compression turned on within PDF files generated through ArcGIS 9.0. This setting is controlled through the "Compress Vector Graphics" checkbox in the PDF Export Options dialog. This fix corrects the stream compression problem so that compressed PDF files can successfully be inserted. n/a
CQ00241834 - ArcObjects: ExportEMF ExportEMF should not raise error when ExportFileName is empty string. This fix corrects a problem that caused some Layout objects to disappear when maps were published to PMF via ArcGIS Publisher. The affected Layout objects include Graphs, Tables, Word Documents, and other inserted OLE objects. n/a
CQ00242131 - Maps saved same as printer in 8.3 do not open correctly in ArcGIS 9.0. Users who have map documents saved with the Page Setup option 'Same as Printer' turned on may experience problems when opening these documents in ArcMap 9.0. These problems may include the page setting to switch from the printer saved with the map document to the default printer on the user's workstation and even scaling the entire map to that default printer's default page size if the 'Scale map elements...' was turned on when the map document was saved.

The issue is that ArcMap 9.0 does not properly sense which version of the software the map document was saved in. ArcMap 9.0 has several improvements with the handling of opening map documents with 'Same as Printer', or 'Use Printer Paper Settings' as it is called in 9.0 and therefore, needs to properly switch between reading 8.x saved map documents and reading 9.0 saved map documents.

This fix enables ArcMap to properly sense which version (8.x or 9.0) the map document was saved in and switches ArcMap to the correct opening sequence to properly open the map document.

CQ00242188 - Reprojecting ArcIMS services in ArcMap, may result in the service returning a blank image. n/a
CQ00242230 - On Novell networks or accessing offline printers, the Print and Page Setup dialogs in ArcMap open slowly, or ArcMap crashes. Some printer configurations (i.e., Novell Netware or NDPS network printer queue or if the printer disconnected from the network or when the network printer goes off-line.) can cause the ArcMap 9.0 Page and Print Setup dialog to appear slow or unresponsive, sometimes taking from 30 seconds to three minutes to open. In some cases, the ArcMap application may appear frozen or crash when the Page and Print Setup or Print dialogs are opened. n/a
CQ00242811 - Localized versions of ArcMap crash when selecting Character Marker Symbol in Symbol Property Editor Dialog. n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a
CQ00243107 - Labels, graphics, and feature selections do not appear if the ArcMap application is spread across multiple monitors. n/a
CQ00243154 - Color adjustment commands are grayed out at 9.0 for the postscript printer engine. This issue has been fixed and the color adjustment options are now available for the PostScript printer engine. n/a
CQ00244173 - Text and marker character positioning may appear severely off when a map is exported from machine without any printers installed. The problem is seen as mis-aligned characters in export, while the screen display looks correct. The problem can occur in any installation that does not have any printer drivers installed; this includes ArcGIS Desktop as well as ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Engine. n/a

Editing
CQ00238981 - ArcMap crashes when editing polylines in layout view. n/a
CQ00241965 - During a spatial adjustment operation the auto update property for feature linked annotation is set to 'Do not update'. After the operation the property is set to the original value. However, If the original value was 'Do not update' it may get toggled to 'update' after the adjust. n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a

CQ00243127 - Dissolve could fail on large feature classes (roughly 100,000 or greater depending on type and complexity of the features). In these cases, the tool would run for long periods of time before failing with non-descriptive errors. n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a
CQ00243492 - SDE property panels could not be localized. n/a
CQ00243717 - Fixes a memory leak when creating new features in a personal geodatabase which may cause data loading to fail. n/a
Geostatistical Analyst
CQ00227549 - After a complex kriging operation, and a Geostatistical Analyst layer has been created and saved, ArcMap may become unstable and crash. n/a n/a
CQ00238012 - Saving a Geostatistical Analyst layer created using a subset of the points (based on a selection of the points) generates a corrupt ArcMap document. n/a n/a
CQ00240176 - The points depicted in the searching neighborhood dialog of the Geostatistical Analyst wizard are all in one color rather than grouped into different colors based on the assigned weights when the IDW method has been selected. n/a n/a
Geoprocessing Tools
CQ00243127 - Dissolve could fail on large feature classes (roughly 100,000 or greater depending on type and complexity of the features). In these cases, the tool would run for long periods of time before failing with non-descriptive errors. n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a

Server Administration
CQ00237628 - You cannot type in the path to a geocode server object in ArcGIS Server This prevented users from typing in path names (especially prevented users to type in UNIX pathnames to point to an address locator on a UNIX machine). Users now have a choice to use the browser to navigate to a locator file on disk or type in the path name and the address locator name in separate fields. We recommend using the browser whenever possible, type in the path name only when you are sure of it as we do not validate the path name.

Note: Always use the browser to specify an address locator inside an SDE database.
