Portal for ArcGIS 10.7 Pop-up Selected Feature Display Patch

Published: May 14, 2019

Summary

This patch addresses multiple issues and Esri recommends that customers using Portal for ArcGIS 10.7 apply this patch. A key issue that has been addressed occurs when pop ups are enabled, and the selected feature geometry display can differ from the original feature geometry. This patch is required for customers using Portal for ArcGIS when installed on an Arabic operating system. This patch is also required if you have upgraded to 10.7 and intend to use existing Insights items as part of a distributed collaboration.

Description

Esri® announces the Portal for ArcGIS 10.7 Pop-up Selected Feature Display Patch. When a layer in a web map is configured to use pop ups, and the user clicks on a feature to identify, the selected feature geometry displayed can differ from the geometry of the original feature. With this patch, both the selected feature geometry and the original selected feature geometry will match. This patch is required for customers running Portal for ArcGIS on an Arabic operating system, as it addresses problems when indexing and searching for content. Additionally, this patch is required for customers that have upgraded to 10.7, and who want to utilize Insights items as part of distributed collaborations. Applying this patch will also address a significant workflow issue when an existing member attempts to reset a forgotten password; clicking the ‘Forgot Password?’ link in the Portal home application currently prompts you with incorrect questions for resetting a password. The patch also resolves a problem with the Story Map Cascade template when embedding images in your application. This patch deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.

Issues Addressed with this patch

  • BUG-000121734 - Unable to embed images in a Story Map Cascade app.
  • BUG-000121359 - Unable to complete the 'Forgot Password' workflow.
  • BUG-000121139 - Support sharing Insights items, using Distributed Collaboration, which have been upgraded from earlier software versions.
  • BUG-000121102 - Unable to publish hosted feature services because of indexing service failures when the Portal for ArcGIS deployment locale is Arabic.
  • BUG-000115859 - When selecting line or polygon features for layers with pop-ups enabled, the selection symbology does not match the actual feature geometry.
