ArcGIS (Desktop, Engine, Server) 10.6.1 PostgreSQL Performance and Version 10 Support Patch

• BUG-000115897 - Polygon and Line Feature Classes imported into PostgreSQL 10.3+ using the Feature Class to Feature Class tool fail to draw and throw "Failure to access the DBMS server" error.
• BUG-000115265 - spatial query: one of the features found using the spatial filter is returned twice with PostgreSQL geodatabase.
• BUG-000114428 - A reconcile and post fails for a specific version.
• BUG-000110221 - Connecting to PostgreSQL geodatabase crashes ArcCatalog.

ArcGIS Desktop, Engine, or Server 10.6.1 must be installed before installing this patch.

1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
3. Double-click ArcGIS-1061-<Product>-PPVS-Patch.msp to start the setup process.
   
   NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:
   
   
   msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-1061-<Product>-PPVS-Patch.msp

Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.

ArcGIS Server 10.6.1 must be installed before installing this patch.

1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS.
3. Extract the specified tar file by typing:
   
   
   % tar -xvf ArcGIS-1061-S-PPVS-Patch-lx.tar
4. Start the installation by typing:
   
   
   % ./applypatch
   
   
   This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.

Copy the st_geometry library from the DatabaseSupport directory in the ArcGIS client installation location and place it in the PostgreSQL lib directory. Be sure you copy the correct st_geometry library for the version of PostgreSQL and operating system you will be using.

• The location of the lib directory on Linux can vary depending on how you installed PostgreSQL. To determine the correct location for your PostgreSQL installation, execute pg_config as the postgres user. The value that is returned for PKGLIBDIR is the lib directory where you need to place the st_geometry library. Log in as the root user to copy the file to the lib location.
• If PostgreSQL is installed on a Windows server, place the st_geometry.dll file in the %PostgreSQL%\lib directory.
