ArcGIS 10.3 GeoEvent Server Patch 2

Summary

This patch addresses issues including GeoEvent Manager failing to load in Chrome 67, updates to hosted Feature Services stopping after variable lengths of time, the SMS output connector not sending text messages, and GeoEvent Services that contain a GeoFence based filter failing to display after restarting the ArcGIS GeoEvent Windows service.

Introduction

EsriĀ® announces the ArcGIS 10.3 GeoEvent Server Patch 2. This patch addresses issues including GeoEvent Manager failing to load in Chrome 67, updates to hosted Feature Services stopping after variable lengths of time, the SMS output connector not sending text messages, and GeoEvent Services that contain a GeoFence based filter failing to display after restarting the ArcGIS GeoEvent Windows service. This Patch is cumulative of previously released Patches and Hotfixes.


Enhancements and Issues Addressed with this Patch

Note: This Patch is cumulative of previously released Patches and Hotfixes.

This issue was integrated into the code base at 10.6.1

  • BUG-000114349 - ArcGIS GeoEvent Manager fails to load in Chrome 67.

This issue is was included from 10.3 Patch 1 Hotfix 1 and integrated into the code base at 10.3.1.

  • BUG-000085590 - Proxy-enabled connections requiring authentication for both proxy and destination servers do not work.

These issues were included from 10.3 Patch 1 and integrated into the code base at 10.3.1

  • Bug-000084726 - GeoEvent Server stops updating hosted feature services after a variable length of time.
  • Bug-000084949 - Outbound SMS Transport is not sending text messages.
  • Bug-000084720 - GeoEvent Services fail to display after a System/Windows Service restart when they contain a GeoFence based Filter.

Installing this Patch on Windows


Enterprise Deployment Notes:The ArcGIS 10.3 Enterprise Deployment technical paper discusses enterprise deployment of ArcGIS 10.3 setups using Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and Group Policy, including additional system requirements, suggestions, known issues, and Microsoft Software Installation (MSI) command line parameters. Deployment in a lockdown environment is also covered.


Installation Steps:

ArcGIS 10.3 GeoEvent Server must be installed before you can install this patch.

  1. Download the patch to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

  2. Make sure you login as an Administrator.
  3. Double-click GeoEvent_10_3_0_P2.msp to start the install process.

    Note: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:
    msiexec.exe /p <location of patch>\GeoEvent_10_3_0_P2.msp

Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS GeoEvent Server Install owner. The install owner is the account used to run the GeoEvent Server.


  1. Download the patch to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

    ArcGIS GeoEvent Server GeoEvent-10.3.0-Patch2.tar.gz e22692f7f0d70311ca5c073b22ee3e49

  2. Extract the specified tar file by typing:
    % tar -xzvf GeoEvent-10.3.0-Patch2.tar.gz
  3. Copy the GeoEventSimulator.exe file from ./ArcGISGeoEvent/Support/ to a Windows machine
    Note: The GeoEventSimulator can only be used on a Windows machine.
  4. Run the Installation by typing:
    % ./ArcGISGeoEvent/Patch.sh
