ArcGIS GeoEvent Server 10.5.1 Patch 2 (Windows, Linux)


This is a general cumulative maintenance patch for ArcGIS 10.5.1 GeoEvent Server (Windows and Linux). Please download and install this patch at your earliest convenience.


  • ArcGIS GeoEvent Server 10.5.1 must be installed before you can install this patch.
  • Clearing the browser cache will be required after this patch is installed to properly load the updated GeoEvent Manager User Interface.
  • Patches cannot be uninstalled separately and will require a fresh installation of GeoEvent Server to roll back any changes.

Enhancements and Issues Addressed with this Patch

  • BUG-000107481 Custom connector configurations are duplicated when GeoEvent Server's Windows service is restarted.
  • BUG-000108106 Portal type Data Store connections fail to connect using Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA) security when Portal for ArcGIS is on a different server.
  • BUG-000108559 Rapid feature updates to Spatiotemporal big data store from GeoEvent Server leads to data errors and duplicate records on the specified unique field.
  • BUG-000108567 If a transport consumes events faster than an adapter can parse the content, it can lead to buffer overflow errors.
  • BUG-000109289 Error when trying to start an 'Add a Feature to a Spatiotemporal Big Data Store' output connector.
  • BUG-000109523 Some special characters not preserved in the TCP transport handshake string.
  • BUG-000106503 Installing or Upgrading to ArcGIS GeoEvent Server 10.5.1 in a disconnected environment fails.

Installation Instructions for Windows

  1. Login with an Administrator Windows account.

  2. Download the patch to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.
  3.   Checksum (Md5)

  4. Double-click GeoEvent_10_5_1_Patch_2.msp to start the install.

    Note: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:
    msiexec.exe /p <location of patch>\GeoEvent_10_5_1_Patch_2.msp

  5. After the setup is complete, restart the ArcGIS GeoEvent Windows Service.
  6. Open the GeoEvent Manager to ensure your inputs, outputs, and GeoEvent Services have been started. If they are not, manually restart them in the GeoEvent Manager.

Installation Instructions for Linux

  1. Log in as the user that installed ArcGIS Server.
    Note: For the Amazon AMI this is the user arcgis.

  2. Download the patch to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.
  3.   Checksum (md5)
    GeoEventServer-10.5.1-Patch2.tar.gz f97fbc38b426387e75962d47f1fdc603
  4. Extract the package:
    $ tar -xzvf GeoEventServer-10.5.1-Patch2.tar.gz
  5. Copy the GeoEventSimulator.exe file from ./ArcGISGeoEvent/Support/ to a Windows machine.
    Note: The GeoEvent Simulator can only be used on a Windows machine.
  6. Stop the GeoEvent Server daemon service.
  7. Start the Installation by typing:
    $ ./GeoEvent/Patch.sh
  8. Delete the contents of the GeoEvent Server data folder.
    $ rm -rf /GeoEvent/data
  9. After the setup is complete, restart the ArcGIS GeoEvent Daemon.
