ArcView Spatial Analyst 1.1 and 3D Analyst 1.0 Visibility Patch (Sun Solaris)

Published: September 24, 2002

Summary

This patch resolves a number of issues with ArcView Spatial Analyst 1.1 and 3D Analyst 1.0 for Sun Solaris.

Description

This patch resolves the following problems for ArcView Spatial Analyst 1.1 and 3D Analyst 1 users:

  • The Visibility request has the ability to be customized by using information found in the input point or line feature table. The request searches for specific fields in the feature table (e.g., SPOT, OFFSETA, OFFSETB, AZIMUTH1, AZIMUTH2, VERT1, VERT2, RADIUS1, and RADIUS2) and, if present, uses them to fine-tune the output. Previously, ArcView Spatial Analyst 1.1 and 3D Analyst 1 on the Solaris platform were unable to incorporate these optional fields. This patch is important if you are using the Visibility request in either extension and need to specify this type of restriction.

You must already have ArcView Spatial Analyst 1.1 and/or 3D Analyst 1 installed to use this patch.

Installation Instructions

  1. Download the TAR and compressed file visfixsol.tar.Z.
  2. Copy the file into your existing arcview3 directory.
    % cp visfixsol.tar.Z $AVHOME
  3. Uncompress the .Z file
    % uncompress visfixsol.tar.Z
  4. Untar the TAR file in your current arcview3 directory. This ensures the existing files are updated.
    % tar -xvf visfixsol.tar

Once the file is uncompressed and untarred into $AVHOME location the patch installation is complete.
