This patch corrects inconsistencies in the display of localized CAD annotation data after installing the ArcGIS 10.2.1 Utility and Telecommunication Patch 1 dated August 21, 2014 and optimizes the handling of localized CAD annotation with Asiatic characters. It is recommended that all users experiencing problems with the display of CAD annotations after the installation of the ArcGIS 10.2.1 Utility and Telecommunication Patch 1 install this patch.

Description

EsriĀ® announces the ArcGIS 10.2.1 for Desktop Localized CAD Display Patch. The patch addresses issues of misrepresentation of localized CAD annotation feature classes after installing the ArcGIS 10.2.1 Utility and Telecommunication Update 1 Patch. This patch deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.

  • NIM096857 - Unable to view a CAD annotation with Japanese characters correctly in ArcGIS 10.2.
  • NIM095963 - Cannot view a CAD annotation with Korean characters correctly in ArcGIS 10.2.
  • NIM096857 - Unable to view a CAD annotation with Japanese characters correctly in ArcGIS 10.2.
  • NIM097041 - Unable to view a computer-aided design (CAD) annotation with Chinese characters correctly in ArcGIS 10.2.
  • NIM104603 - CAD annotations display incorrectly after the installation of ArcGIS 10.2.1 Utility and Telecommunication Patch 1.

 

Installing this patch on Windows

 

Installation Steps:

ArcGIS for Desktop, Engine, or Server must be installed before installing this patch.

  1. Download the appropriate file for your environment to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
  3. Double-click the appropriate setup <msp/exe> to start the setup process.

    NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:

    msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-<Version>-<Product>-LCD-Patch.msp
