Bug ENH-000111651

Synopsis

In Web App Builder Near Me widget configuration settings, allow removal of “Approximate Distance: ft” feature.

Additional Information

Alternate Solution

User Story:

"It would be ideal if there was a way to remove this because it is not helpful, especially when the widget has been configured with the option of “Return polygon(s) containing the searched location rather than polygons within the buffer”. Using this configuration means that all “Approximate locations” will always return as 0 ft, so there is not a need or use of this text. I anticipate members of the public will find this confusing when using our map.

I would recommend a checkbox in the Near Me widget Search settings to toggle this on or off. That way it can be available to users who need a distance reference at the top of the search results."

Steps to Demonstrate:
Create web application using WAB and open to configure.
Add Near Me widget. Click to edit the widget.
Use polygon data to configure the search, and set to Return polygon(s) containing the searched location rather than polygons within the buffer.
Search for location
Returned results will appear, with the gray bar that reads “Approximate Distance: 0 ft”
