Creating a new ArcGIS Server site, creating a service, and deleting a service intermittently fails with the error message, "timeout creating child process" and resolves itself after multiple retries.

Workaround

Resubmit the request (whether it is creating the site, creating a service, or deleting a service) to prevent the timeout error. Reattempting the process a second or third time allows the operation to succeed.
