The dataset fails to export to a shapefile when working with specific ArcGIS Open Data datasets with a large number of records and fields.

Additional Information

The shapefile format does not support a dataset this large. This is a known limitation. We have plans to convey this more gracefully to the end user (such as by graying out or not providing the shapefile download option for datasets that cannot be represented in the shapefile format). In the meantime, this is the expected behavior. In the mean time, the customer may want to take advantage of the ability to provide a download in a format such as file geodatabase (FileGDB/fgdb), which does support larger datasets. Workaround

Filter the dataset to where there are less than 10,000 records, and export the dataset to a shapefile.
