Additional Information

The behavior of the software when splitting a destination feature is to maintain the foreign key value only if the relationship is composite. The documentation is to be updated to reflect the behavior. "When splitting a destination feature in a composite relationship, the relationship between the original feature and the related origin objects is not deleted. New relationships are created between the origin objects and the new feature that was a result of the split."

Workaround

Manually populate the primary key ID in the field.
