Unchecking a group layer with sublayers checked and refreshing Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS (Developers Edition) turns all layers off.

Workaround

In Google Chrome’s incognito window, on refreshing the page the issue persists, however, on closing the incognito window and launching a new one, the sublayer checks are maintained.
