When reopening ArcMap, a validation of the 'Display XY Data' is needed on a xy event layer that is created from a geodatabase table joined to an excel sheet.

Workaround

Click on red ! > Validate YX event data.Alternatively:1. Export the Excel sheet as a geodatabase table.2. Join the tables.3. Display XY data.
