The 'Add a map to your app' tutorial in ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Android is not up to date with the most recent version of Android Studio 1.4 where the design pattern for blank activity changed to include two XML layout files. These files are activity_main.xml and content_main.xml in src/main/res/layout/.
