Additional Information

This defect is not reproducible on ArcGIS Server 10.2.2. Here are the steps that I used to successfully register a MySql OLE DB connection with ArcGIS Server 10.2.2 and higher. 1. Download the MySQL ODCB Connector for the appropriate machines.: Found here: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/ 2. Install on the appropriate machines. The 32 bit driver is needed for ArcGIS Desktop If the install fails, with this error, follow the directions here: http://www.linglom.com/administration/solved-error-1918-while-installing-mysql-odbc-driver-on-windows/ You need to install this: Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 32-bit at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 The 64 bit driver is needed for ArcGIS Server If the install fails, with this error, follow the directions here: http://www.linglom.com/administration/solved-error-1918-while-installing-mysql-odbc-driver-on-windows/ You need to install this: Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 64-bit at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 3. Create the ODBC connection: Login to the ArcGIS Server machine, as the windows service account which is used to run the ArcGIS Server windows service. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32 Run odbcad32.exe This will open the ODBC Data Source Administrator program. Select the User DSN tab. This is only going to add a connection for the account you are logged in as. To register with ArcGIS Server, you will need to login to the ArcGIS Server machine as the Account that runs the ArcGIS Server windows service. Otherwise, the registration for ArcGIS Server will fail. On the User DSN tab, select Add. Choose MySQL ODBC 5.3 ANSI Driver from the list Fill in the appropriate MySQL connection information. Press OK. Close ODBC Data Source Administrator. 4. Open ArcCatalog. Follow these steps to add an OLE DB connection. http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.3/manage-data/using-arccatalog/adding-ole-db-connections.htm Make sure to select Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers from the provider list. You will not need to enter a username or password here, simply enter the Data Source name used in the ODBC Data Source Administrator in step 1, then use the drop down in step 3 to select your MySql Database. 5. Add ArcGIS Server connection. Right click on the ArcGIS Server connection which you want to register the OLE DB connection with. Select Server Properties Select Data Store tab Press the plus button to the right of the Registered Databases list. Name the data store registration entry. Select import, selec the OLE DB connection that you created above. Press OK to register the OLE DB connection with the ArcGIS Server.
