Error: Error 1935: An error occurred during the installation of assembly
When attempting to install ArcGIS Desktop, the following error occurs:
"Error 1935: An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.lnk,Version="1.7.2600.2180", Publickey Token="31BF3856AD364E35",Culture="neutral". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT=0x80131700"
1935 errors usually indicate that something is wrong with a .NET assembly or the .NET installation.
Solution or Workaround
Uninstalling and reinstalling the .NET Framework is a solution that can potentially resolve these issues.
- Navigate to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
- Select Microsoft .NET Framework from the list and select Remove. If there are multiple versions installed, remove them all, one at a time.
- Reinstall the highest version of Microsoft .NET Framework that was previously installed. Download links are provided below under Related Information.
- Start the installer for ArcGIS Desktop again.
