ArcGIS Data Store 10.9.1 Durability Enhancement Patch

Published: August 12, 2022

Summary

The ArcGIS Data Store 10.9.1 Durability Enhancement Patch improves performance and resolves functional issues for relational, tile cache, and spatiotemporal big data stores.

Description

Esri® announces the ArcGIS Data Store 10.9.1 Durability Enhancement Patch. This patch improves performance and resolves functional issues affecting relational, tile cache, and spatiotemporal big data stores. It improves robustness and consistency in the configuration of large standby relational data stores, restoring of relational data stores, and the backup of large tile cache data stores. Additional issues have been resolved to honor the data retention options set for spatiotemporal big data sources configured through ArcGIS GeoEvent Server, and to support tile cache data store in IPV6 environments. This patch deals specifically with the issue listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.

Issues Addressed with this patch

  • BUG-000148139 - The relational ArcGIS Data Store must wait until the database is accessible during a restore before allowing connections from the registered ArcGIS Server site.
  • BUG-000147103 - Backup for the tile cache data store fails when configured in an IPv6 environment.
    Please see For IPV6 only environments for more information.
  • BUG-000147035 - Unable to publish to the tile cache data store in an IPv6 environment.
    Please see For IPV6 only environments for more information.
  • BUG-000146199 - Improve the reliability of the configuration of a large standby relational data store.
  • BUG-000146180 - The Data Retention Option in a spatiotemporal data source set via ArcGIS GeoEvent Server is not honored appropriately.
  • BUG-000143824 - Improve robustness of a tile cache data store backup process.
To avoid conflicts this patch also addresses:
  • BUG-000145346 - Update log4j to address security vulnerabilities.

Additional instructions for large relational data stores

Additional instructions for BUG-000146199

Prior to configuration of a large standby relational data store, under <installation directory>/framework/etc open the datastore.properties and set the ‘start_timeout’ entry to a large time value such as 60000 (in seconds). Esri has found that 60000 seconds is generally a sufficient timeout value for large relational data stores.

Restart the data store service after modifying this value.

In the below example, the time value is set to 60000. This value can be set to a value larger than what is needed to configure.

start_timeout=<time in seconds>

Example:

start_timeout=60000

For IPV6 only environments

Additional instructions for BUG-000147035 and BUG-000147103

  1. For IPV6 only environments, in the <installation directory>/framework/etc/datastore.properties file, edit the ipv6_only property to be boolean true such as below and save the file:

    ipv6_only = true

  2. Start the ArcGIS Datastore service
  3. Configure the tile cache data store.
