ArcGIS AppStudio Developer Edition Version 5.4 Sign-in Patch

Summary

This patch addresses an error that occurs when attempting to sign-in from ArcGIS AppStudio desktop and retrieve an AppStudio Developer Edition license. Esri recommends that all customers using AppStudio 5.4 apply this patch.

Description

EsriĀ® introduces the AppStudio Developer Edition Version 5.4 Sign-in Patch. This patch addresses an issue when users sign-in to AppStudio desktop with an Esri Developer Subscription online account and the application becomes unresponsive with an infinite loading spinner. After installing this patch users will be able to sign-in to AppStudio using their Developer Subscription account and retrieve a license for AppStudio Developer Edition. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch

NOTE: If you are running a version of AppStudio released before AppStudio 5.4 you will need to update to AppStudio version 5.4 before installing this patch.

Installing this patch on Windows

The ArcGIS product listed in the table must be installed on your system before you can install a patch. Each patch setup is specific to the ArcGIS product in the list. Esri recommends that you install the patch for each product that is on your system.

  1. Download the file to a location other than your ArcGIS AppStudio Developer Edition installation location.

  2. Copy the original C:\Users\username\Applications\ArcGIS\AppStudio\bin\qml\ArcGIS\AppBuilder\AppBuilderPlugin.dll to a safe location if you wish to make a backup of it.
  3. Unzip AppBuilderPlugin-<Version>.zip to extract the new AppBuilderPlugin.dll.
  4. Copy the new AppBuilderPlugin.dll to this location: C:\Users\username\Applications\ArcGIS\AppStudio\bin\qml\ArcGIS\AppBuilder\ Note: This will replace the existing AppBuilderPlugin.dll file.

Installing this patch on macOS

 

Installation Steps:

  1. Download the file to a location other than your ArcGIS AppStudio Developer Edition installation location.

  2. Copy AppStudio_Install/AppStudio.app/Contents/Resources/qml/ArcGIS/AppBuilder/libAppBuilderPlugin.dylib to a safe location if you want to make a back up of it.
  3. Unzip libAppBuilderPlugin-macOS.zip to extract the new libAppBuilderPlugin.dylib file.
  4. Copy the new libAppBuilderPlugin.dylib to these locations:

    • AppStudio_Install/AppStudio.app/Contents/Resources/qml/ArcGIS/AppBuilder/
    • AppStudio_Install/AppUpload.app/Contents/Resources/qml/ArcGIS/AppBuilder/
    • AppStudio_Install/AppMake.app/Contents/Resources/qml/ArcGIS/AppBuilder/
    • AppStudio_Install/AdvancedConfiguration.app/Contents/Resources/qml/ArcGIS/AppBuilder/
    • AppStudio_Install/AppRun.app/Contents/Resources/qml/ArcGIS/AppBuilder/
    • AppStudio_Install/AppConsole.app/Contents/Resources/qml/ArcGIS/AppBuilder/
    • AppStudio_Install/AppSettings.app/Contents/Resources/qml/ArcGIS/AppBuilder/

    Note: This will replace the existing libAppBuilderPlugin.dylib file.

Installing this patch on Linux

  2. Copy AppStudio_Install/bin/qml/ArcGIS/AppBuilder/libAppBuilderPlugin.so to a safe place if you want to keep a back up of it.
  3. Extract libAppBuilderPlugin-Linux.tar file by typing:

    % tar -xvf libAppBuilderPlugin-Linux.tar
  4. Copy the new libAppBuilderPlugin.so to this location: AppStudio_Install/bin/qml/ArcGIS/AppBuilder/ Note: This will replace the existing libAppBuilderPlugin.so file.
