Summary

Note: The Portal for ArcGIS 10.8.1 Indoors Patch 1 is obsolete and has been replaced by the Portal for ArcGIS 10.8.1 Indoors Patch 2. The patch has been superseded by the Portal for ArcGIS 10.8.1 Indoors Patch 2 because the defects resolved in the Portal for ArcGIS 10.8.1 Indoors Patch 1 are also resolved in the Portal for ArcGIS 10.8.1 Indoors Patch 2. Please refer to the Issues Addressed section of the Portal for ArcGIS 10.8.1 Indoors Patch 2 page for details.

Description

EsriĀ® announces the Portal for ArcGIS 10.8.1 Indoors Patch 1. This patch includes added capabilities for ArcGIS Indoors to include routing smart launch and office hotel booking in Indoor Viewer and undo edits in Indoor Space Planner with additional support for accessibility and non-English locales. This patch deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.

This patch includes added capabilities for ArcGIS Indoors as well as improved accessibility and support for non-English locales.

Issues Addressed with this patch

 

  • BUG-000135485 - Difficult to see focus highlight when using Safari on Mac in Indoor Viewer.
  • BUG-000135483 - Unable to use keyboard to tab through left panels (Safari on Mac) in Indoor Viewer.
  • BUG-000135482 - Unable to use keyboard to tab to User drop-down button (Safari on Mac) in Indoor Viewer.
  • BUG-000135480 - Unable to use keyboard to tab to Floor Picker (Safari on Mac) in Indoor Viewer.
  • BUG-000135479 - Unable to use keyboard to tab to 3D map tool button (Safari on Mac) in Indoor Viewer.
  • BUG-000135477 - Unable to use keyboard to tab through Info panel (Safari on Mac) in Indoor Viewer.
  • BUG-000135475 - Unable to use keyboard to tab through left navigation menu in Indoor Viewer in Safari on Mac.
  • BUG-000135474 - "No selectable Units included in selection" not translated in ja/de/ar in Indoor Space Planner.
  • BUG-000135473 - Changes to units symbology and addition of layers cause the Indoor Space Planner app to not display units.
  • BUG-000135472 - Events time picker is cut off in non-English locales.
  • BUG-000135471 - In ArcGIS Indoors for ArcGIS Pro 2.6, categories all appear under one category group in the configuration wizard in Indoor Viewer.
  • BUG-000135470 - Search results can take a few seconds to appear when using ArcGIS Indoors for ArcGIS Pro 2.6 categories.
  • BUG-000135469 - Burger button menu no longer has styling on mobile devices in Indoor Viewer.
  • BUG-000135468 - Hover buttons are partially hidden when an unassigned person card contains no department, team, and job title in Indoor Space Planner.
  • BUG-000135467 - Misaligned strings in panel when Event is selected in Indoor Viewer.
  • BUG-000135466 - Editing the search string in Indoor Space Planner places the cursor at the far right with every key stroke.
  • BUG-000135465 - Layer names do not display correctly in the layers list for a plan in Indoors Space Planner.
  • BUG-000135464 - Users in Indoor Space Planner are not warned if assigning a person to a unit would exceeds the unit's capacity.
  • BUG-000135463 - "Summary" in New Plan window is not legible in German in Indoor Space Planner.
  • BUG-000135462 - The delay for the target highlight to update is excessive when dragging and dropping an item in Indoor Space Planner.
  • BUG-000135461 - People can be assigned to not-assignable area in the 'Assign people to unit' window in Indoor Space Planner.
  • BUG-000135460 - Users with no access to a plan in Indoor Space Planner are presented with an unintelligible error message.
  • BUG-000135459 - Indoor Viewer does not honor the web map's rotation.
  • BUG-000135458 - Unable to view long hot desk names in Indoor Space Planner.
  • BUG-000135450 - 'Summary' in the New Plan tab is not translated into Japanese.

 

Installing this patch on Windows

 

Installation Steps:

 

This patch should be installed on all Portal for ArcGIS installations related to the Portal for ArcGIS site.

The ArcGIS product listed in the table must be installed on your system before you can install a patch. Each patch setup is specific to the ArcGIS product in the list. To determine which products are installed on your system, please see the How to identify which ArcGIS products are installed section. Esri recommends that you install the patch for each product that is on your system.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
  3. Double-click ArcGIS-1081-PFA-IN1-Patch.msp to start the setup process.

    NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:

    msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-1081-PFA-IN1-Patch.msp

 

Installing this patch on Linux

 

Installation Steps:

 

Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder. This patch should be installed on all Portal for ArcGIS installations related to the Portal for ArcGIS site.

The ArcGIS product listed in the table must be installed on your system before you can install a patch. Each patch setup is specific to the ArcGIS product in the list. To determine which products are installed on your system, please see the How to identify which ArcGIS products are installed section. Esri recommends that you install the patch for each product that is on your system.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS.
  3. Extract the specified tar file by typing:

    % tar -xvf ArcGIS-1081-PFA-IN1-Patch-linux.tar

    Start the installation by typing:

    % ./applypatch

    This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.

Uninstalling this patch on Windows

 

To uninstall this patch on Windows, open the Windows Control Panel and navigate to installed programs. Make sure that "View installed updates" (upper left side of the Programs and Features dialog) is active. Select the patch name from the programs list and click Uninstall to remove the patch.

 

Uninstalling this patch on Linux

 

Uninstalling on Linux is only available on version 10.5.1 or higher. These instructions are specific to 10.7 and higher. To remove this patch, navigate to the <Product Installation Directory>/.Setup/qfe folder and run the following script as the ArcGIS Install owner:


./removepatch.sh

The removepatch.sh script allows you to uninstall previously installed patches or hot fixes. Use the -s status flag to get the list of installed patches or hot fixes ordered by date. Use the -q flag to remove patches or hot fixes in reverse chronological order by date they were installed. Type removepatch -h for usage help.

How to identify which ArcGIS products are installed

To determine which ArcGIS products are installed, choose the appropriate version of the PatchFinder utility for your environment and run it from your local machine. PatchFinder will list all products, hot fixes, and patches installed on your local machine.
