ArcGIS (Desktop, Engine, Server) 10.7.1 Spatial Analyst COM and Extraction Tools Patch
Summary
Description
Esri® announces the ArcGIS (Desktop, Engine, Server) 10.7.1 Spatial Analyst COM and Extraction Tools Patch. If you are using the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst COM components and creating custom applications, this patch resolves a runtime error when certain components (including RasterConditionalOp and a few other Ops), are used in a pre-10 coding style. With this patch, you can use the ArcObjects API's with the RasterConditionalOp etc components in custom applications with a pre-10 coding style. The following is a complete list of Ops that are affected by this patch:
- RasterMathOps
- RasterExtractionOp
- RasterConditionalOp
- RasterConversionOp
This patch also fixes two bugs with the Spatial Analyst extraction toolset. With this patch, the Sample, Extract Values to Points, and Extract Multi Values to Points tools will use the analysis extent of the input locations by default. The raster resampling behavior of these three tools are fixed to be consistent with the Point to Raster tool. Esri recommends all customers using the ArcGIS 10.7.1 Spatial Analyst extension install this patch. This patch deals specifically with the issue listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.
Note: A new style of coding with Spatial Analyst components was introduced at ArcGIS 10, allowing for the processing of raster data in Spatial Analyst without the need to convert to ESRI grid format. See the following help topic for further details: IRasterAnalysisGlobalEnvironment Interface.
Issues Addressed with this patch
- BUG-000130724 - The Con method of the Spatial Analyst component RasterConditionalOp fails with error unexpectedly when called in a pre-10 syntax.
- BUG-000131571 - Records missing from Sample output table for rasters locations. Use same sampling behavior as point 2 raster.
- BUG-000132583 - Sample, Extract Values to Points, and Extract Multi Values to Points should use the analysis extent of the input locations by default.
- BUG-000127086 - Add Parameter to Cost Path and Cost Path As Polyline geoprocessing tools to support flow direction input.
- BUG-000127062 - StreamLink tool is creating data-specific incorrect output, producing a single segment where two unique segments are expected.
Installing this patch on Windows
Installation Steps:
The ArcGIS product listed in the table must be installed on your system before you can install a patch. Each patch setup is specific to the ArcGIS product in the list. To determine which products are installed on your system, please see the How to identify which ArcGIS products are installed section. Esri recommends that you install the patch for each product that is on your system.
- Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

- Double-click ArcGIS-1071-<Product>-SACET-Patch.msp to start the setup process.
NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:
msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-1071-<Product>-SACET-Patch.msp
Installing this patch on Linux
Installation Steps:
Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.
The ArcGIS product listed in the table must be installed on your system before you can install a patch. Each patch setup is specific to the ArcGIS product in the list. To determine which products are installed on your system, please see the How to identify which ArcGIS products are installed section. Esri recommends that you install the patch for each product that is on your system.
- Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.
Checksum (Md5) ArcGIS Server ArcGIS-1071-S-SACET-Patch-linux.tar B635BC40039DE0F78DBF1519AA3F32E4 - Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS.
- Extract the specified tar file by typing:
% tar -xvf ArcGIS-1071-S-SACET-Patch-linux.tar
- Start the installation by typing:
% ./applypatch
This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.
Uninstalling this patch on Windows
- To uninstall this patch on Windows, open the Windows Control Panel and navigate to installed programs. Make sure that "View installed updates" (upper left side of the Programs and Features dialog) is active. Select the patch name from the programs list and click Uninstall to remove the patch.
Uninstalling this patch on Linux
Uninstalling on Linux is only available on version 10.5.1 or higher. These instructions are specific to 10.7 and higher. To remove this patch, navigate to the /.Setup/qfe folder and run the following script as the ArcGIS Install owner:
./removepatch.sh
The removepatch.sh script allows you to uninstall previously installed patches or hot fixes. Use the -s status flag to get the list of installed patches or hot fixes ordered by date. Use the -q flag to remove patches or hot fixes in reverse chronological order by date they were installed. Type removepatch -h for usage help.

How to identify which ArcGIS products are installed
To determine which ArcGIS products are installed, choose the appropriate version of the PatchFinder utility for your environment and run it from your local machine. PatchFinder will list all products, hot fixes, and patches installed on your local machine.
