ArcGIS 10.5.1 (Desktop, Server) NITF and NCDRD Quality Patch 2
Summary
This patch addresses several issues when working with standard NITF images as well as NCDRD compliant NITF images in ArcGIS 10.5.1. This patch provides fixes that include correctly displaying file based tiled multi-segmented NITF images, updates support for multi-segmented NITF images in mosaic dataset workflows, correctly display NITF data containing Japanese characters, and fixes issues associated with reading CADRG and RPF data. This patch is cumulative with ArcGIS (Desktop, Server) 10.5.1 NITF and NCDRD Quality Patch 1.
Description
EsriĀ® announces the ArcGIS 10.5.1 (Desktop, Server) NITF and NCDRD Quality Patch 2. This patch addresses several issues when working with standard NITF or NCDRD compliant NITF images. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.
May 17, 2018: A new version of each Windows setup is now available in order to fix an installation error when upgrading from 10.5.1 to 10.6 or higher. If you have installed the previous version of this patch, installing the new setup over the top of the original installation will resolve this issue.
Issues Addressed with this patch
- BUG-000110942 - Adding NITF (.ntf) data to map fails if the path contains Japanese characters.
- BUG-000107966 - ArcMap 10.5.1 does not read some RPF and A.TOC raster files.
- BUG-000103925 - The Compressed ARC Digitized Raster Graphics (CADRG) file provided by the client does not draw in ArcMap 10.5.
To avoid conflicts this patch also includes:
- BUG-000109406 - The JPEG2000 rendering speed is significantly slower in ArcMap 10.5.1 when compared to prior versions.
- BUG-000108665 - fix spelling of USE_COMPRESSED_OBJECTS environment variable for URI column
- BUG-000108583 - AddRasters slows down for MD stored PostgreSQL as the number of records in the catalog increases.
- BUG-000108582 - copying a mosaic dataset to PostgreSQL or sqlserver with rasterblob storage is NOT creating the MD raster with out of line storage resulting in very poor performance
- BUG-000108414 - Adding a large mosaic dataset stored in PostgreSQL or sqlserver to the map takes a long time.
- BUG-000107305 - Fix image mensuration issues when using the image coordinate system.
- BUG-000107304 - Updating National Imagery Transformation Format (NITF) driver to correctly read multi-segmented NITF.
- BUG-000105341 - A sync error occurs when using offline editing in Collector for ArcGIS if the data uses PG_GEOMETRY, but the synchronization only fails if new features are added to the offline downloaded map, synced, deleted from offline map, and synced.
- BUG-000105323 - A python raster function template can be applied correctly on the mosaic dataset layer, but fail to generate output when added as processing template
- BUG-000103977 - Applying the Resample or Reproject function from the Image Analysis window does not work as expected.
Installing this patch on Windows
Installation Steps:
ArcGIS Desktop, Engine or Server 10.5.1 must be installed before installing this patch.
- Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.
ArcGIS 10.5.1 Checksum (Md5) ArcGIS Desktop ArcGIS-1051-DT-NNQ2-PatchB.exe 163EFE8507683D98E1A78A437591F5F2 ArcGIS Server ArcGIS-1051-S-NNQ2-PatchB.exe AAF4CBD7E9AF672C1F6CDA2688E36642 - Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
- Double-click ArcGIS-1051-<Product>-NNQ2-PatchB.exe to start the setup process.
NOTE: If double clicking on the EXE file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:
msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-1051-<Product>-NNQ2-PatchB.exe
Installing this patch on Linux
Installation Steps:
Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.
ArcGIS Server 10.5.1 must be installed before installing this patch.
- Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.
ArcGIS 10.5.1 Checksum (Md5) ArcGIS Server ArcGIS-1051-S-NNQ2-Patch-linux.tar 9489BE2DDE04A6591AFB1F1EE707CCAB - Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS.
- Extract the specified tar file by typing:
% tar -xvf ArcGIS-1051-<Product>-NNQ2-Patch-linux.tar
- Start the installation by typing:
% ./applypatch
This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.
Uninstalling this patch on Windows
- To uninstall this patch on Windows, open the Windows Control Panel and navigate to installed programs. Make sure that "View installed updates" (upper left side of the Programs and Features dialog) is active. Select the patch name from the programs list and click Uninstall to remove the patch.
Uninstalling this patch on Linux
- To remove this patch, navigate to the /tmp directory and run the following script as the ArcGIS Install owner:
./patchremove
- Restart your ArcGIS Server services
