Summary
Description
EsriĀ® announces the ArcGIS 10.4.1 (Desktop, Server) NITF and NCDRD Quality Patch 1. This patch addresses several issues when working with standard NITF or NCDRD compliant NITF images. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.
Important note: This patch may affect some enhancements provided by the NITF for ArcGIS extension.
Issues Addressed with this patch
- BUG-000110942 - Adding NITF (.ntf) data to map fails if the path contains Japanese characters.
- BUG-000107305 - Fix image mensuration issues when using the image coordinate system.
- BUG-000099806 - Request for support for multi-segment images NITF version 2.1 as described in http://www.gwg.nga.mil/ntb/baseline/docs/2500c.
To avoid conflicts this patch also includes:
- BUG-000102878 - Rasters within a certain extent in the World Geodetic System (WGS) 1984 coordinate system display with no extent or cell size.
- BUG-000101468 - The mosaic datasets created using ArcGIS for Server 10.5 with binary storage fail to open in prior releases.

- BUG-000096567 - Image service pointing to a Compressed File geodatabase does not release memory.
- BUG-000095958 - Time values are read incorrectly when adding to mosaic dataset if netCDF files defined with Julian calendar.
- BUG-000095633 - Extent inconsistency warning shows when a mosaic dataset and image service created from globe data added to ArcMap.
- BUG-000095615 - When adding Soil moisture Active Passive (SMAP) L3 and L4 HDF5 data, ArcMap returns an unexpected warning message, "..inconsistent extent..".
- BUG-000094700 - Selecting the Symbology tab in Layer Properties for a raster catalog gives the error "Attempted an unsupported operation" in ArcGIS for Desktop 10.4.
- BUG-000093223 - Setting a JPEG2000 compression with a quality of 100 when copying a raster dataset within or into an ArcSDE geodatabase using the Copy Raster geoprocessing tool or the Export Raster Data dialog box from ArcMap results in poor image quality.
- BUG-000092416 - Building pyramids using JP2 compression after loading multiple JP2 images into a file geodatabase raster leads to blurry pyramids.
- BUG-000091154 - Edit Raster Function and Set Mosaic Dataset Properties are incorrectly available with an ArcGIS for Desktop Basic license.
Installing this patch on Windows
Installation Steps:
ArcGIS Desktop, Engine or Server 10.4.1 must be installed before installing this patch.
- Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

- Double-click ArcGIS-1041-<Product>-NNQ-Patch.msp to start the setup process.
NOTE: If double clicking on the EXE file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:
msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-1041-<Product>-NNQ-Patch.msp
Installing this patch on Linux
Installation Steps:
Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.
ArcGIS Server 10.4.1 must be installed before installing this patch.
- Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.
ArcGIS 10.4.1 Checksum (Md5) ArcGIS Server ArcGIS-1041-S-NNQ-Patch-linux.tar 36283D24BFE3839EAE8E17764EE56E8B - Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS.
- Extract the specified tar file by typing:
% tar -xvf ArcGIS-1041-<Product>-NNQ-Patch-linux.tar
- Start the installation by typing:
% ./applypatch
This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.
