Summary

This patch fixes an issue where the Set Extent dialog box does not display properly when using custom basemaps in the WGS84 coordinate system in the Portal home application.

Description

EsriĀ® announces the Portal for ArcGIS 10.5.1 Custom Basemap Extent Patch. This patch addresses display issues in the Set Extent dialog box when setting the extent for basemaps in the WGS84 coordinate system; no basemap is drawn and the Draw Extent button and map navigation is disabled. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.

Note: The Windows setup for the Custom Basemap Extent Patch has been replaced with a B version, ArcGIS-1051-PFA-CBE-PatchB.exe. This exe will uninstall the previous version of the patch and then install the newer version with a fix to remove a conflict with the Patch Notification utility. If you installed the previous version of this Custom Basemap Extent Patch, please proceed with installing this latest version to avoid severe errors when using the Patch Notification Utility.

 

Issues Addressed with this patch

  • BUG-000104949 - Basemaps in the WGS84 coordinate system do not draw in the Item Details Set Extent dialog box.

Installing this patch on Windows

 

Installation Steps:

 

Portal for ArcGIS 10.5.1 must be installed before installing this patch.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
  3. Double-click ArcGIS-1051-PFA-CBE-PatchB.exe to start the setup process.

    NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:

    msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-1051-PFA-CBE-PatchB.exe

 

Installing this patch on Linux

 

Installation Steps:

 

Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.

Portal for ArcGIS 10.5.1 must be installed before installing this patch.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

    Portal for ArcGIS ArcGIS-1051-PFA-CBE-Patch-linux.tar F2DDBB401EB587E4DC7D854A9F5CF1FF
         

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS.
  3. Extract the specified tar file by typing:

    % tar -xvf ArcGIS-1051-PFA-CBE-Patch-linux.tar

  4. Start the installation by typing:

    % ./applypatch

    This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.
