This patch provides a fix for layer definition queries to ArcGIS Server 10.5 map services.

Description

Esri® announces the ArcGIS Server 10.5 Layer Definition Query Patch. This patch provides a fix for layer definition queries to ArcGIS Server 10.5 map services including certain requests made from the ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS map viewer and custom JavaScript applications. This patch deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.

Issues Addressed with this patch

  • BUG-000102535 - Simple syntax for layer definition expressions not working for 10.5 Map Service.
To avoid conflicts this patch also addresses these issues:
  • BUG-000101955 - Publishing a query layer with binding variables from ArcGIS Pro fails.
  • BUG-000101954 - Map Service does not report timeInfo correctly in the layer resources for a query layer that is made time aware by binding it to a parameter.
  • BUG-000101953 - Map service query operation on a query layer with binding variables but without time parameter uses the time value from the previous REST request.

Installing this patch on Windows

 

Installation Steps:

 

ArcGIS Server 10.5 must be installed before installing this patch.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
  3. Double-click ArcGIS-105-S-LDQ-Patch.msp to start the setup process.

    NOTE: If double clicking on the ArcGIS-105-S-LDQ-Patch.msp file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:

    msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-105-S-LDQ-Patch.msp

 

Installing this patch on Linux

 

Installation Steps:

 

Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.

ArcGIS Server 10.5 must be installed before installing this patch.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

    ArcGIS Server ArcGIS-105-S-LDQ-Patch-linux.tar1EFC1F1466C5AF06BF01D273F6013575
       

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS.
  3. Extract the specified tar file by typing:

    % tar -xvf ArcGIS-105-S-LDQ-Patch-linux.tar

  4. Start the installation by typing:

    % ./applypatch

    This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.
