This patch resolves issues in the Business Analyst 10.5.1 Custom Data Setup process when calculating MPI and CEX survey variables using the Esri 2017 Data Update.

Description

Esri® announces ArcGIS Business Analyst Desktop 10.5.1 MPI/CEX Custom Data Patch. This patch for Business Analyst 10.5.1 resolves issues when using Custom Data Setup to build Business Analyst Datasource (BDS) Layers with Market Potential Index (MPI) variables or Consumer Expenditure (CEX) variables when using the Esri 2017 Data Update. This patch is cumulative of previous patches and becomes obsolete at the 10.6 release. It deals specifically with the issue listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.

Issues Addressed with this patch

BUG-000110118 - "An error occurred within this application. The cause is undetermined" when opening the attribute table for a custom Business Analyst data source (BDS) layer.

Installing this patch on Windows

Installation Steps:

ArcGIS Business Analyst Desktop 10.5.1 must be installed before installing this patch.

Download the appropriate file(s) for your environment to a location other than your installation location.

Make sure you have write access to your installation location.
Double-click ArcGIS-1051-<Product>-MCCD-Patch.msp to start the setup process.

NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:

msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-1051-<Product>-MCCD-Patch.msp
