Description
Esri® announces the ArcGIS 10.5 (Desktop, Engine, Server) Raster to Polygon and Raster To Polyline Memory Corruption Patch. This patch addresses memory corruption when these tools are run multiple times within the same script. The tool will also fail to finish if the data defining the processing extent in the Environment is different from that of the input raster. It deals specifically with the issue listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.
Issues Addressed with this patch
- BUG-000103532 - Increased memory usage will be apparent when the Raster To Polygon or Raster To Polyline tools are called many times within the same script. These tools will also fail to finish if the processing extent is set in the Environment using data that has a spatial reference that is different from that of the input raster.
Installing this patch on Windows
Installation Steps:
ArcGIS 10.5 for Desktop, Engine or Server must be installed before installing this patch.
- Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

- Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
- Double-click ArcGIS-105-<Product>-RPRPMC-Patch.msp to start the setup process.
NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:
msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-105-<Product>-RPRPMC-Patch.msp
Installing this patch on Linux
Installation Steps:
Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.
ArcGIS 10.5 for Engine or Server must be installed before installing this patch.
- Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.
ArcGIS 10.5 Checksum (Md5) ArcGIS for Server ArcGIS-105-S-RPRPMC-Patch-linux.tar 160B2933030C4AA49CA7998CDD27DBBE
- Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS.
- Extract the specified tar file by typing:
% tar -xvf ArcGIS-105-<Product>-RPRPMC-Patch-lx.tar
- Start the installation by typing:
% ./applypatch
This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.
