SQL Update for ArcView 3.0 and 3.0a (PC Only)

Published: May 5, 1997

Summary

This update resolves a problem with SQL tables in ArcView 3.0 and 3.0a (PC Only)

Description

When an SQL table created in ArcView 3.0 and 3.0a contains more than 32,767 records, values are displayed in 32,767 record intervals. For example, for a 200,000 record SQL table in ArcView, the first 32,767 records are displayed, the second 32,767 are blank, the third interval contains the same records as the first 32,767, and so on.

The problem is fixed by installing a new version of the $AVHOME/bin32/utqe32.DLL file.

Please note that this problem ONLY occurs with the 32-bit versions (Win95/NT) of ArcView 3.0 and 3.0a. This install should NOT be used with any other version of ArcView. This install is for PCs ONLY. ArcView project files that contain SQL tables will not be adversely affected by this change.

Note: If you have ArcView 3.1, the SQL update is not necessary and you should not download this version.

Installation Instructions
Download the SQL Update (utqe32.dll) file and copy it to your $AVHOME/bin32/ directory. Replace the existing utqe32.dll file with this newer version. You must restart ArcView for the changes to take effect.
