ArcSDE 9.2 for Oracle10gR2 for Tru64 UNIX

New Release! ESRI announces the ArcSDE 9.2 for Oracle10gR2 release for Tru64 UNIX.

This release of ArcSDE 9.2 for Oracle10gR2 includes all the fixes addressed in previously released 9.2 Patches and Service Packs. It also includes all the fixes addressed in ArcSDE 9.2 Service Pack 4. Therefore, you do not need to install ArcSDE 9.2 Service Pack 4 on top of this release.

A CD of this release is also available for users who experience difficulties downloading the release from the web site. Please contact ESRI's Customer Service or your international Distributor to order the CD.

Install this release using your SDE user account.

INSTALLATION NOTE: The ArcSDE 9.2 for Oracle10gR2 release includes the ArcSDE Installation Guide from ArcSDE 9.2 for Oracle9i. There are a number of changes you will have to consider when reading the ArcSDE 9.2 for Oracle9i Installation Guide while installing and setting up the ArcSDE 9.2 for Oracle10gR2 Release.

1. All references to Oracle9i can be changed to Oracle10gR2.

3. The ArcSDE 9.2 for Oracle10gR2 release is available on the following UNIX and Linux platforms:

   Solaris 64bit
   AIX 64bit
   Red Hat Linux
   HP HP-UX
   HP Tru64

   Please see the ArcSDE system requirement web page for more details on the platforms supported with the ArcSDE 9.2 for Oracle10gR2 release.

Server Install for HP Tru64 UNIX

1. Download the appropriate tar file:
   
   

   Tru64    sde92-ora10g-tru64.tar.gz

   60 MB

   
   
2. Gunzip and extract the specified tar file for your platform. At the UNIX prompt type:

   % gunzip sde92-ora10g-tru64.tar.gz
% tar -xvf sde92-ora10g-tru64.tar

3. Follow the installation instructions in install_oracle.htm, please read Install_Guide_README.htm first), to install this release.
   

ArcSDE SDK Install for HP Tru64 UNIX (Direct connect users only)

ArcSDE 9.2 Service Pack 4 must be installed on your client applications before you install this release.

1. Download the appropriate file to your ArcSDE installation location/lib directory (i.e. $SDEHOME/lib):
   
   

   Tru64 sde92-ora10g-esri-tru64.tar.gz

2. Gunzip and extract the specified tar file for your platform. At the UNIX prompt type:
   

   % gunzip sde92-ora10g-esri-tru64.tar.gz
% tar xvf sde92-ora10g-esri-tru64.tar
   

ESRI Products connecting to ArcSDE (Direct connect users only)

HP Tru64

If you connect to ArcSDE 9.2 using ArcInfo Workstation 9.2 on any supported Unix/Linux platform please follow the steps below to install this release to your ArcGIS 9.2 software installation directory.

1. Before you start, make sure you have write access to the installation directory then download the appropriate compressed tar file to that location:
   
   

   Tru64 sde92-ora10g-esri-tru64.tar.gz

   2 MB

   
   
2. Uncompress and extract the specified tar file for your platform. At the UNIX prompt type:
   

   %cd <installation_directory> (i.e. cd $ARCHOME)
    <Workstation Installation Directory>/lib
% gunzip sde92-ora10g-esri-tru64.tar.gz
% tar xvf sde92-ora10g-esri-tru64.tar
