Description
ESRI is pleased to announce ArcSDE 8.3 Java API Patch for Oracle Java Stored Procedures. This patch contains fixes that deal specifically with issues that arise with the use of the ArcSDE Java API as an Oracle Java Stored Procedure. This patch is optional and only required for the use of the ArcSDE Java API within the Oracle Java Virtual Machine. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Fixed with this Patch.
Issues Fixed with this Patch
Java-API
CQ00216942 - ArcSDE 8.3 and 9.0 Java API fail with NullPointerExceptions on SeConnection inside Oracle JVM.
CQ00225004 - ArcSDE Java API programs hang when run inside the Oracle Java Virtual Machine.
Files Installed in this Patch
- Under the %SDEHOME%\bin folder:
All Databases Java SDK
- jsde83_sdk.jar
- jsde83_sdk.jar
Installing this Patch
Since this Patch replaces an ArcSDE 8.3 file, ArcSDE 8.3 must be installed before you can install this Patch. Before you start, make sure you have write access to the ArcSDE client installation directory.
- In the %SDEHOME%\lib folder (UNIX: $SDEHOME/lib), rename the following files:
From: jsde83_sdk.jar
To: jsde83_sdk.jar.orig
- Use WinZip to extract the file jsde83_sdk.jar from sde83-JavaAPI-Patch.zip and copy it to the appropriate folder/directory:
(Windows: %SDEHOME%\lib folder)
(UNIX: $SDEHOME/lib directory).
You're now ready to run ArcSDE.
