ArcGIS Military Overlay Editor (MOLE) 10 Service Pack 1

This Service Pack contains performance improvements and maintenance fixes. Please download and install this required Service Pack at your earliest convenience.

Description

It is recommended that all ArcGIS Military Overlay Editor (MOLE) 10.0 customers download and install this Service Pack, at their earliest convenience, to ensure the highest quality experience when working with MOLE 10.0.

 

NOTES:

  • ArcGIS Military Overlay Editor 10.0 must be installed before you can install Service Pack 1. Service Pack 1 is cumulative and contains the fixes from all previous 10.0 patches. If you have a previous patch installed, you may apply Service Pack 1 over it to update the required files.

Issues Addressed with this Service Pack

 

  • NIM060316 - Using dynamic display, certain NBC symbols cause a crash when trying to create cached graphic images.
  • NIM057894 - An incorrect image appears when exporting some MOLE cached graphics that share the same function ID code.
  • NIM059375 - Hurricane symbol does not resize properly after the map extent refreshes.
  • NIM061113 - Rendering text using a TextSymbol while a tactical graphics layer is visible causes an X Window error.

 

Installing the Service Pack on Windows

 

Windows

  1. Download the ArcGIS Military Overlay Editor file to a location other than the installation folder:

    ArcGIS Military Overlay Editor  
    MOLE10sp1.msp 10 MB
  2. Make sure you have write access to the <ArcGIS installation folder>\ArcGIS directory and that no one is accessing the directory.

    Note:The default installation directory is C:\Program Files\ArcGIS
  3. Double-click MOLE10sp1.msp to start the installation process.
  4. When Setup starts, follow the instructions on your screen.

Installing this Service Pack on Linux

  1. Note: Make sure you install ArcGIS Military Overlay Editor Service Pack 1 as the ArcGIS application owner, do not install it as the ROOT user.

  2. Download the ArcGIS Military Overlay Editor file to a location other than the installation folder:

    ArcGIS Military Overlay Editor Linux  
    MOLE10-SP1-Linux.tar 5 MB
    ArcGIS Military Overlay Editor Linux for Engine  
    MOLE10-Engine-SP1-Linux.tar 21 MB
  3. Make sure you have write access to the <ArcGIS installation directory>/ArcGIS directory and that no one is accessing the directoy.
  4. Extract the tar file MOLE10-SP1-Linux.tar or MOLE10-Engine-SP1-Linux.tar by typing:
    % tar -xvf MOLE10-SP1-Linux.tar
    % tar -xvf MOLE10-Engine-SP1-Linux.tar
  5. As the user who installed the ESRI application with which you intend to use MOLE, start the installation by typing:
    % ./applypatch
    This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.

  • Windows

    • To find out what ArcGIS products are currently installed on your machine, download the PatchFinder utility and run it from your local machine.

  • UNIX/Linux

    • To find out what ArcGIS products are currently installed on your machine, download and extract the PatchFinder utility and run it from your local machine.
