ArcGIS for (Desktop, Engine, Server) NADCON transformations for Alaska, Guam, Rota, and Saipan Patch

Published: May 27, 2016

Summary

This patch fixes a problem in the NADCON and HARN transformation methods that affects data in Alaska, Guam, Rota, and Saipan.

Description

Esri® announces the ArcGIS for (Desktop, Engine, Server) NADCON transformations for Alaska, Guam, Rota, and Saipan Patch. This patch addresses problems with these transformations:

  • Alaska: NAD_1927_To_NAD_1983_Alaska and NAD_1927_To_WGS_1984_85
  • Guam: Guam_1963_To_HARN_Guam and Guam_1963_To_WGS_1984_2
  • Rota: Guam_1963_To_NAD_1983_HARN_Rota
  • Saipan: Guam_1963_To_NAD_1983_HARN_Saipan

The extents of the transformations are defined incorrectly. Data is not transformed even though the transformation is active. Other NADCON- or HARN-based transformations are unaffected. This patch should be installed if data is being transformed or reprojected in one of the listed areas. This patch deals specifically with the issue listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.

Issues Addressed with this patch

  • BUG-000096290 - The geographic transformation NAD_1927_To_NAD_1983_Alaska, EPSG code 1243, no longer works in either direction.
